Comparing Saf-T Lube System and Bearing Buddies
Updated 04/07/2021 | Published 04/06/2021 >
Question:
I have a new 2020 single axle boat trailer that came with the Saf-T-Lube system. I read where these allow water to get into your bearings and they should be replaced with Bearing Buddies. What do the trailer experts have to say?

Expert Reply:
The Saf-T-Lube system is similar to the EZ lube spindles that we do carry which allows you to pump grease to the middle of the spindle bearing area through a grease fitting at the end of the spindle. If you look far enough online you'll see people who praise and bash all three systems mentioned. I would personally feel more comfortable with the Saf-T-Lube over the Bearing Buddy system since it pushes the grease through the front of the hub. The Bearing Buddy system is the easiest to overfill the hubs with and blow out the grease seal.
