Will MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent Keep Fan Setting & Can it be Used With Wall Switch

Question:

Id like to hook this up to a wall switch in the bathroom, but I see that it has push button controls. If I turn the power off at the wall switch with the fan on speed setting 2, will it go back to that setting when power is reapplied at the switch or will the on button for the fan need to be pressed each time?

The fan setting you are using will remain after turning off the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent with 12V Fan # MA00-05301K, but that is only with the key pad controls on the actual fan. It isn't recommended to use a wall switch with this fan though as it is designed to have constant 12 volts and there could be issues with the circuit board; it hasn't been tested with a switch to know if the fan setting will remain but it is unlikely without having constant power.

If you do want to use a 12 volt fan that can be operated with a wall switch or even a remote there are other options I recommend over the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent with 12V Fan # MA00-05301K.

For a powered vent that includes a wall switch the best option is from Ventline, the Ventline Ventadome Roof Vent with 12V Fan and Wall Switch - Smoke # V2119-3-533 or White # V2119-1-533.

Or you could go with an upgraded unit with a remote, the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote - Powered Lift - 10 Speed # MA00-07500K.
