How To Determine The Correct 2-1/2" Shank For Reese Weight Distribution Hitch?

Question:
Hi, I have a Reese weight distribution system set up for a 2 inch receiver. I just bought a F250 that has a 2.5 inch receiver. Rather than use a reducing sleeve, I would like to change to a 2.5 inch shank. However, the ball mount/weight distribution potion on my existing set up seems to be made to bolt to a 2 inch shank. Im concerned it will not fit. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks,

I would be happy to recommend the correct weight distribution shank for your Reese weight distribution hitch, but with out knowing the exact system you have there are two different shank styles, so you will want to pick the one that matches your current shank.
If the shank on your system has does not have a channel like the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank - 2-1/2" Hitch - 7" Rise, 3" Drop # EQ90-02-4700 this would be a perfect option as it will work with the 2-1/2" receiver in your new Ford F-250 and will still work with your Reese system.
The other style of shank is the Blue Ox Track Pro Weight Distribution Shank for 2-1/2" Hitches - 9 Hole Adjustment # BLU26FR which has a channel so if this matches your current shank this would be the correct option.
Both of these options neck down where the weight distribution head attaches so you will not need to worry about it being to wide.
I included videos for both of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
