Do I Need to Replace Stolen Wheels From Dually Gooseneck Trailer and What is the Reduced Capacity

Updated 01/28/2021 | Published 01/25/2021

Question:

Ive got big Tex 22n i think, it has dual tandems and someone has stolen all of my outer wheels and tires, so i was wondering how much that would cut my capacity down with running just single wheels all the way around? Also who that hurt it?

I'll start out by saying that your capacity will be reduced and you'll want to replace the wheels and tires in order to use the trailer at full capacity; I can't comment as to how much capacity will be reduced but generally speaking if you're removing 4 wheels/tires from the equation you're cutting the weight bearing capacity in half. Trailer wheels and tires are designed to be load bearing and you will be limited by the capacity of the 4 remaining wheels until then, and part of the weight it's carrying is the dry weight of the trailer.

With that said, it looks like the BigTex 22N came with 235/80r16 tires with a Load Range G; you could replace the tires with the Provider # PRG80235 and then you'd just need to find a set of wheels. If you wanted to get a complete wheel and tire combo, the # TA66FR would be a good choice if you've got an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern. If you've got a different bolt pattern, just let me know and I can see if we've got any packages that would work or if we can recommend a wheel that will work with those Provider # PRG80235.

I've linked some review videos of these parts for you to have a look at.
