Increasing the Clearance of an Andersen Ultimate 5th Wheel Hitch with an Offset Ball

Question:

I have a 2017 Silverado 2500 that had the Curt turn over ball system in it when I bought the truck. I have a fifth wheel that I tow with and Anderson ultimate hitch. I am looking to gain a few more inches of cab clearance. Is this offset hitch ball compatible with the Anderson Ultimate hitch system. I want to make sure that the offset doesn’t cause some sort of moment arm that will over stress the Curt hitch or the Anderson hitch.

I called Andersen to confirm.

If you are wanting more clearance for your Andersen Ultimate 5th wheel hitch, then using an offset ball like the Curt 4" Offset Ball for Double-Lock Gooseneck Hitch, part # C602, is exactly what you need. This should work perfectly for you.
