Can Base Plate Kit And Grille Guard Both Be Installed On 2021 Jeep Wrangler

Question:

Hi, I have a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. I am looking to install a Blue Ox Base plate Kit, BX1139 for towing. Do you carry a grill guard that will not conflict with the base plate? I was looking a your Aries Pro Grill Guard, but I think it will conflict. Can you confirm it will? Any other options you can recommend?

I have another option, But you are correct that the Aries Pro Series Grille Guard with Mesh LED Cover Plate # AAP1053, and Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1139 will not both be able to be installed on your 2021 Jeep Wrangler as they both mount to the frame and will be in each others way.

To have the benefits of a grille guard and the ability to be flat towed that a base plate kit offers, I recommend going with an off-road bumper that has a built in grille guard, and has D-Rings on the bumper that are flat tow rated. When you are looking at the bumper just make sure that it has 1" D-Rings, and the manufacturer should list if it is rated for flat towing. I know that a few of the big name manufacturer's like Poison Spyder and Smittybuilt offer bumpers that are rated for flat towing.

You will then be able to use the Blue Ox Aftermarket Off-Road Bumper Adapter # BX88357 which will allow you to use quite a few different Blue Ox tow bars including the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar # BX7380 which you can see being installed on a 2020 Jeep Wrangler in the included video.
