I have a 2020 GMC 3500 diesel with factory brake controller. We bought a 2021 Jayco Pinnacle 5th wheel with hydraulic disc brakes but my truck doesnt recognize the brake system on RV. Someone told me that I may need an actuator part # HBA CAM, is this correct? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Integrated brake controllers are notorious for not always working well with electric over hydraulic actuators. Sometimes it's just easiest to replace the controller with aftermarket. What actuator does your trailer have?
If it is a Hydrastar like the # HBA16 then the adapter part # HBA-CAM is what you'd need.
