Will Yakima SkyBox NX 16 Cargo Box, # Y95AV Fit On a 2013 Mazda CX-5 With Factory Roof Rack

Question:

Does a Yakima 16 skybox nx fit the 2013 Mazda CX5. It has factory installed roof rack and crossbars. Looking for something with latch mounting, not U-bolt. Thanks so much for your help.

The Yakima SkyBox NX 16 Cargo Box, part # Y95AV, will fit on your 2013 Mazda CX-5 with the factory roof rack and cross bars. The cargo box will clamp to your factory cross bars with integrated clamps that adjust and tighten with a cam-action lever inside the box. The lever slides along a track and is tightened and released by hand knobs.

When installing a roof cargo box to your Mazda CX-5 you will want to check the weight capacity of your factory roof rack in the owner's manual or with the Mazda dealer and make sure not to exceed that capacity.

To determine if the # Y95AV cargo box will clear the rear hatch of your 2013 CX-5 you will need to take a measurement on your vehicles roof.

The minimum clearance measurement to determine rear hatch clearance is taken from the center of the front crossbar of the roof rack on your vehicle to the seam of the rear hatch on your CX-5. That measurement will need to be 47 inches or more for the roof cargo box to clear the rear hatch on your vehicle. I am including a picture that will show the minimum clearance measurements on Yakima roof cargo boxes to determine rear hatch clearance on a vehicle.
