Can Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, Part # RM-077-2, be Used with a Towing Dolly

Question:

Sometimes I tow a jeep with a Roadmaster tow bar and sometimes I tow a prius on a dolly with hitch ball adapter slid in 2 inch receiver on the motor home. I know the tow bar is ok with this, but is the dolly ok as well. It looks like it would work unless a dolly has too much tongue weight. I dont believe there that heavy.

The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, Part # RM-077-2, has a rated tongue weight capacity of 400 pounds. Its intended purpose is to allow use of an accessory such as a bike carrier or cargo carrier at the same time that a tow bar is being used, however, it can be used while towing a dolly as well. Just not a trailer.

Please keep in mind that any type of hitch extender or hitch adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch on which it is installed by 50%.
