Question:
Hello, Can you tell me if there is a difference in the clearance how low the hitch hangs on the class 1 vs. the class 2? Same question for the Curt. Which hangs down the least? I have a 2018 subaru impreza 5-door and its already low to the ground. Thanks

The Curt Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11465, the Draw-Tite Class I Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT24959, and Draw-Tite Class II Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36644 are all within roughly a 1/4inch of ground clearance when installed on your 2018 Subaru Impreza.
Due to that I recommend the Draw-Tite Class II Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36644 which is a stronger trailer hitch receiver capable of a maximum tongue weight of 350lbs, and a maximum trailer weight of 3500lbs. The Draw-Tite Class II Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36644 will allow you to use Class I and Class II accessories which will give you more options when looking for accessories. It is important to check the owner's manual for your Subaru to make sure it can handle that much weight, and use the lowest weight rating between your vehicle and trailer hitch receiver.
I attached the installation video of the Draw-Tite Class II Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36644 for you to take a look at.
If you can tell me what you plan on using your trailer hitch receiver for I'd be happy to recommend accessories to fit your needs.
