I contacted the manufacturer to find out the load range for this product, part # RM-910022. It is specified for a 2000 pound snap rating.
Please note that cable connectors of this type are designed and rated specifically for a horizontal line pull application (but not for hoisting or lifting). The capacities quoted by manufacturers are for this type of application only.
I suggest you consider Hidden Hitch part # C82932, which also comes as a set of two. These half-inch Quick Links have a Safe Working Load limit of 3,300 pounds and a maximum capacity of 16,500 pounds each.
The working Load Limit (WLL) is the load that can be handled in actual use. For example, if you should encounter a pot hole while underway the actual short-term force presented to the connector could be many times the WLL, and could approach the maximum capacity. It is not recommended to exceed the WLL in any application.
