Question:
I know that the center pin is +12V and can be run to the battery to maintain it while driving. Can I run that directly to the positive terminal on the battery or do I need a fuse in line?

Helpful Expert Reply:
When installing the Pollack # PK11604 you don't need to run a fuse inline with the battery on your trailer and you can run the power wire directly to the positive terminal on the battery. If you also need a vehicle end connector, I recommend using the Pollak Single-Pole, Round Pin Trailer Wiring Socket - Vehicle End # PK11851
I've linked a quick installation video that we did of this plug that doesn't use a fuse that I recommend having a look at.
