Hitch Extender for 2020 Ford F-450 with Camper that Extends Past Truck 36 inches

Question:

Hello, I am looking at getting the Torklift Cannon Hitch Extension. My truck camper a Host Mammoth overhangs 36inch from my factory hitch. Ive seen several sites that say to measure and use the length from the factory hitch to the overhang for the measurement of the extension you want. However it looks like people are adding length passed this measurement as a buffer? Putting the ball hitch in the end of the extension would push it out another 8-12inch so I dont see the reasoning to this buffer. Am I missing something? Just want to be sure before I purchase. Thank you.

Going out further than the overhang of the camper wouldn't be helpful and would only potentially add more leverage on the truck's hitch. Since your 2020 Ford Superduty has a camper than extends out past the rear of the truck 36 inches the Torklift Cannon part # TLE1636 would be exactly what you'd need.
