For your 2017 Chevy Silverado 3500 you can bypass your factory brake controller by unplugging it and then installing the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # 3016. This will allow you to easily install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195.
