Weight Distribution and Sway Control for a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and 2012 Aliner Expedition

Which hitch should I go with, a straight line hitch 200 to 600 lb tongue weight. Have a 2012 Jeep JKU four door, 3500 tow capacity. I will be towing a 2010 Aliner Expedition. 17foot 8inch hitch to bumper, weight 2230 lbs dry with tongue weight of 335 lbs, weighed under the trailer jack just behind the hitch. Do have some sag but not much. My biggest concern is sway control for the 118 inch wheel base Jeep. Thanks in advance for your help.

When choosing a weight distribution system, you have to look at the total loaded tongue weight. This is the combined weight of the trailers tongue weight when loaded and ready to tow plus the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. Since there is not a lot of space to load things behind the rear axle on a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we can use the 335 pounds as a base line for choosing a system.
The 335 pound trailer tongue weight is close to the max on a system rated for up to 350 pounds. That is why I recommend the Strait-Line system, # RP66082. It has a range of 200 to 600 pounds tongue weight capacity. The dual-cam sway control also works quite well when compared to a friction style system. You will just need to add a properly sized ball for the coupler on your trailer. Use # A-90 for a 2 inch or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch. I have included some instruction links to the Strait-Line system for you as well.
