Question:

Can the e track be screwed to the 2 x 8 on the trailer floor or does it have to be bolted through the floor? If screwed down, what kind of screws are recommended. What gauge metal is the etrack?

The Buyers Products Horizontal E-Track - Gunmetal Gray Powder Coated Steel - 5' Long - Qty 1 # 3371903055 is 12 gauge steel and it can be screwed down directly to the trailer floor but won't have the same strength as if it were bolted through the floor. I recommend using wood deck screws that are 5/16 inch diameter and 1-1/2 inch length if attaching to the 2x8s. If you want a stronger connection, I recommend using the E-Track Backing Plate - Zinc Plated Steel - 6-1/2" Long x 6" Wide - Qty 1 # e46RR in 3 locations for a 5 foot E-track and then using screws and locknuts. The hardware will need to be obtained from a local hardware store.
