Clarification When Using Anchor Mode On A 2019 Mini Cooper 3 Door Hardtop Using The Yakima FullBack

Question:

Hello. I have a 2019 Mini Cooper 3 Door Hardtop. I understand both the top and bottom hooks have to be installed in anchor mode and Ive looked through a lot of the posted QandAs, but I just need a little more clarification. When the hooks are inside of the hatch in anchor mode, do I pull them so theyre flush to the hatch internals? The instructions provided are a little vague and I cannot find a video of installation with anchor mode. Thank you!

When in anchor mode, you do not need to pull them so they're flush to the hatch internals. I have included a picture to illustrate and also an install video of the Yakima FullBack # Y02634 if you haven't taken a look already!
