Question:
I am rebuilding an older actuator pre 2000 using a new master cylinder DX66FR and hopefully installing a reverse lockout T4748800. Is it correct to assume I no longer need the brass adapter/reducing orifice if the solenoid is installed? Most of my research indicates that I do remove it, but just want to verify. Does the solenoid regulate to the proper pressure 800 psi? for drum brakes? PS Your site and service are both fantastic!

Expert Reply:
For your master cylinder # DX66FR, the Replacement Solenoid Valve for Titan Brake Actuators with Reverse Lockouts # T4748800 will serve you well. The solenoid does not regulate the pressure from the specific master cylinder when the valve is not activated so drum brakes will have up to 1000 psi and disc brakes up to 1600 psi.
