Can Thule TracOne Ladder Rack Be Bolted To a Trailer

Question:
Can the base support of each leg of the ladder rack be drilled and secured with proper bolts and locking nuts to an aluminum trailer to allow for carrying other kayaks? If the length of the base support is 16 inches, what is the width? Thank you.

The base supports of the Thule TracRac # TH27000XTB measure 3-1/4 inches wide. Although the rack wasn't designed for this purpose, I don't see why it wouldn't work. You could indeed drill down through the base supports to attach it to the trailer.
