Question:

That's not the kit I have, I have a tow ready 118821, it wants 2 wires I only have 1 on my truck as far as I can tell. I was asking about joining the wires on the kit not getting a different kit.

For your 2017 Ram 3500 the kit I recommend is the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. I've attached a video of the install to assist. The description you gave is exactly how that trailer wiring should be to install this kit. It will split your input from your truck and the wiring harness to the same output and will prevent power back-feed. It will require two diodes on each side.

I recommend using dielectric grease # 11755 to give you the corrosion prevention.

That's great. The Tow Ready Tail Light Isolating Diode System with 4-Pole Connector # TR118821 is a fit for your vehicle as well. I've attached a video to assist you with the wiring on your Ram. You will simply splice into the stop/turn wire and the tail/running light wire on each side. If your colors are different from the video, you simply will use a circuit tester like # PTW2992 to determine function.
