The Malone Microsport Trailer for 4 kayaks part # MPG462G2 that you referenced would be a great option to carry your Carolina kayaks on your road trip. There would be a bit of overhang but that's to be expected and would not be an issue at all.

This trailer would work great at 70 mph. It's so lightweight you'd barely feel back there even with your kayaks.
