Does The Latch and Deadbolt Use The Same Key On the Global Link RV Entry Door Locking Latch Kit
Updated 12/07/2024 | Published 06/09/2020 >
Question:
Global Link RV Entry Door Locking Latch Kit with Keyed Alike Option - Black Item # 295-000019 would like to know if I buy just one unit, will one key work for both the dead bolt lock and handle lock or do I have to chose keyed alike option for this? I would like to buy one unit that comes with two keys and either of the two keys will open both the dead bolt and handle lock. Thanks

The Global Link RV Entry Door Locking Latch Kit part # 295-000019 comes with a matching set of keys therefore the same key will be used for both the latch and deadbolt. In regards to the keyed alike option, this would be used when purchasing more than one latch and wanted them to all come with the same keys.

The keyed unique and keyed alike is very confusing ... your answer above is pretty clear but in two different chats I have gotten an answer that contradicts this. If I order The Global Link RV Entry Door Locking Latch Kit part # 295-000019 with the keyed unique option then I would get two keys that are the same and each key would work in both the latch and deadbolt cylinder on this one lock, correct? The keyed alike is to match the keys to multiple locks, right? Both of my chats indicated that I needed keyed alike option for both cylinders to work on each of the included keys!! If this is correct then your chat people need to have access to this information. It's not a big deal - the couple of dollars difference doesn't really matter. The confusion just makes the ordering process too messy.
