Extang Tail Hinge Replacement

Question:

How is the hing held on when you replace it how does the old one come off

While it can be difficult to get started on these the two panels will slide into the Replacement Tail Hinge for Extang Solid Fold 2.0 Hard Tonneau Cover part # EX83475-64. Of course there is the seal to get out of the way so you can begin sliding the old hinge out. The sections have a round piece that will slide into the rounded opening of the hinge.

Will buying and installing this part allow the opening and folding of the tonneau cover again. I drove with the tail section not clamped but folded into the middle section and it flipped closed while driving and now it won't fold up. Since then I discovered that that is a no no! It is on a 2016 f150 with a Ford decal on it.

@Scott First you will need to discover why the tonneau cover will not fold up. It could be the hinge or it could be caused by damage to either the rear or middle panel. You will need to remove the parts to determine exactly what is damaged. I will also need to know exactly what tonneau cover you have to verify the correct replacement parts as it may have changed depending on how old your cover is.

@BudM Thanks for the quick reply. The cover is the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 Hard Tonneau it has a Ford decal on it and it came on the truck which I purchased used. The truck is a 2016 f150
