Question:
I have purchased an rv that came with Blue Ox tow bar, safety chains and some hook-up items. And no instructions. I don’t think I have a base plate. Can I send someone a photo to see what I have and what I need? If I can do it myself I would rather than take it to a shop.

It looks like you simply have an older style Blue Ox tow bar from your photo. You will simply need to make sure it is rated for the weight of your truck and that capacity should be listed on one of the stickers. You already have the safety cables and a high-low adapter, so there are a few components you need for your 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500.
I recommend using the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BO94FR which will work well with your tow bar. For your wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 which will connect your tail lights while still protecting your truck electronics. You will also need the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicle w/ Supplemental Braking System # RM-766 to give you power for your braking system while keeping your truck from any issues when towing. For your braking system, I recommend the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251. This system is a favorite because it requires simply flipping a switch when you are ready to tow.
I've attached some videos to assist, but that will be all you need to tow your truck. I've linked a help article to give you an overview of the system to assist. This will help you determine if you can do it yourself or if you should take it to a trusted friend or mechanic for help.
