Does A Mens Trek Marlin Need an Adapter Bar on a Hanging Style Bike Rack

Question:

Hi! I recently purchased a Hollywood over-the-top trunk mount rack, and my men’s Trek Marlin does not sit level on the rack. This is my son’s first men’s bike and my first time carrying any bike. Do I need a bar adapter?

Congratulations on your new biking experience! you do need an adapter bar with the men's Trek Marlin because it has a slanted cross tube. The adapter bar part # 64005 will allow the bike to hang level on a hanging bike rack like the Hollywood Over-the-Top. If you also have a woman's bike with a slanted cross tube you may consider getting an adapter bar for that bike as well.
