The bike rack that I recommend using to haul your 26 inch Schwinn Meridian Tricycle with your 2012 Toyota RAV4 is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider Trike Carrier # HR1000Z-R-TRKADP.

This trike carrier will fit both 1-1/4" and 2" hitch receivers and can carry a trike with a max track width of 36", a max wheelbase of 74", a max tire width of 3", and a max weight of 100 lbs. It also comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

Since your Schwinn has a step-through frame you may need to use an Adapter Bar # HRBA-PRO to ensure that the ratcheting arm stabilizes it properly.

If you do not already have a trailer hitch receiver installed on your RAV4 then I recommend getting the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98864 which will easily allow you to transport your trike.

At this point in time (September of 2017) Swagman does not have an option to carry a tricycle. The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider Trike Carrier # HR1000Z-R-TRKADP is what you will need to go with as it is the only tricycle carrier that is currently available.
