The plug in location for a brake controller on your 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 is in the black electric junction box located to the left of the brake pedal. I've attached a photo showing where this is at for a plug in like the part # 3016-S which would be used to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR.
