Question:
My axle for an enclosed car hauler was damaged and I am unable to take measurements of it to replace it. Stamped on the axle I can read inch AL-KO M-N D35 3 CAP 3500 LBS SLR 316 inch I know that it is a 4 inch drop and 3500 lbs but I cannot find a d35 specific axle.

To determine the correct replacement axle for your application I would need you to take the hub-face (HF) and spring-center (SC) measurements (see attached). I reached out to my contact at Dexter Axle and they said that unfortunately the only thing that can be determined from your information is that it should be a drop axle on a 3" tube but aside from that they can't really determine the HF and SC measurements.
I am linking our selection of replacement axles for you to check out. We do offer axles with a 4" drop like the Dexter Axle # 7685269 which has a 95" HF and an 80" SC if that matches what you have.
If you are absolutely unable to take any measurements then you might be interested in the Timbren Axle-Less systems like part # A35RD545E with the 4" drop. These install right to the trailer frame and they use integrated AEON progressive-rate main springs instead of leaf springs.
I have attached some videos for you to check out.
