Question:
So I’ve been looking into getting a dual battery isolator for my 06 dodge diesel. I have a truck camper on the back. I understand that the 12v 7 pin is always “hot”. I don’t want my camper batteries to drain the truck batteries, but I also want to charge the batteries on the camperauxiliary batteries. but to connect the isolator to my auxiliary battery in the camper, how would I go about this?could I go through the 30a fuse on the fuse box? Or should I run a wire to the 7 pin. I’m trying to get away from the PK5231201 because I hear it has about a 0.5 voltage .

Thank you so much for all of the info!
The Battery Isolation Solenoid # PK5231201 does serve it's purpose but I do understand the need for something that is able to do a bit more.
The best solution that we have to offer is the Redarc Smart Start Battery Isolator with Wiring Kit # 331-SBI12KIT because it allows you to install the isolator in-between the start and auxiliary batteries instead of having to install it between the alternator and batteries (it is recommended to have it near the start battery though). This isolator also has the ability to read the voltage of the start battery and will stop transferring power when the voltage drops too low.
In addition to all of this, you can add an LED light to help you monitor what is going on as well as a switch that allows you to reverse the charge and use your auxiliary battery bank to jump your start battery bank in the event of an emergency (each of these are sold separately) if you're interested in adding those to this kit. The price on this kit is a bit higher but it does a whole lot more and comes with everything that you need for the installation. If you plan on doing much camping then you won't regret putting the extra money into this system.
If you'd like something a little more cost-effective we have the Deka Battery Isolator # DW08771 which is rated for many different voltage setups and has a max 120 amp rating.
