Tips for Installing Trailer Cam Door Style Latch on Trailer With Door that Isn't Flush

Question:

Hello, will this door lock assembly work for a door that protrudes about 1” from the sides? You can see from the photo that the door is not flush. Perhaps I need a 1” spacer? Thank you. Wells Cargo 2004

To use a cam door style trailer latch on a trailer door that sticks out 1 inch past surface you'd want to use a spacer behind the latch mechanisms that attach on the door. I'd also go with a setup like the part # PLR258-002-SS which allows you to provide your own bar. You could attach the latch on top of the bar so that you get more offset as well.
