Today we're going to be taking a look at the Polar Hardware heavy duty cam action door lock for enclosed trailers. This unit allows you to add a new or replace an old or damaged cam action door lock on your trailer. I do have it laid out in the way that it would install. The unit is made from a strong, durable stainless steel construction. Stainless steel looks really nice, and it's also going to last a long time. Stainless steel does a great job at resisting rust and corrosion. This unit is designed for flush to 3/4 inch offset doors and it's universal for the right or left hand door, and can be used for side or rear door applications. It's going to feature a bridge-type keeper that prevents accidental opening and ensures safe locking action.

The handle is designed to weld to the pipe, which eliminates having to cut the pipe. This application does call for a 3/4 inch inter-diameter pipe, which is not supplied, so that will need to be provided on your own. The handle has a nice coated grip on it for an easy grip design. It's got the keeper here. That way you can lock it shut, if you choose to. The padlock or seal eye diameter is 1/2 inch.

That's a two piece construction right there. Then here's your handle. Nice steel design. Again, it's got that coated grip on the end for an easy grip design as well. This unit offers 1 3/4 inch extension from the trailer body. Again, you can use a padlock to lock the unit.

Padlock's not included, so that will need to be provided separately as well. The width of the keeper is going to measure two inches wide and then the length of that keeper is going to measure about five inches to five 1/8 of an inch long. Two mount holes on that keeper, one here at the bottom, one at the top. Now all the mount holes on the unit will use 3/8 inch diameter bolts. The handle itself is going to give us a length measurement of 13 3/4 of an inch long. A few other things that I want to point out.

It's going to come with what you need to get it installed, besides the nine hardware. That does need to be provided separately. All these components right here, these brackets are a two piece construction. Then you're going to have your upper and your lower keeper. Those are narrow, or low profile design so, again, it's going to be great for side or rear door applications. These are the components right here that would slide into the pipe. I want to give you the mount hole separation, center on center. Those holes right there are separated on center by 4 3/4 of an inch. The holes right here on all these brackets, those mount holes are separated on center by about 3 1/8 of an inch.
