Question:
Hello, I have a travel trailer that has a dry weight of 7625 lbs and tongue weight of 910 lbs. I have a friend who is giving me a E4 1400/14000 hitch setup. Will there be any negative affects to using this setup since it is heavier than what i need?

Expert Reply:
The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control part # EQ37140ET would be a bit too overrated for a 7,500-8,000 lb trailer and if used there would some negative effects such as ineffective sway control. That said, it's pretty easy to switch to the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control part # EQ37120ET because all you will need is the Replacement Head for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems part # EQ90-02-1200. The new head would then provide a much more effective of balance and sway control for a smaller trailer.
