Question:

I just ordered a draw tight traile hitch and wiring harness for my 2017 Cadillac XT5. If I don’t have the towing package will the wiring harness I ordered still work or do I need to change it to a different type of wiring harness? I bought the vehicle used and haven’t crawled under it to see if I have the factory plug.

From what I've been able to determine from my research, all of the 2017 Cadillac XT5 have the plug that is used to connect a trailer wiring harness, so the Tekonsha # 118720 should work for you. If for some reason the plug has been removed, you would need to hard-wire in a harness like the Curt # C58044, but this is extremely unlikely.
