Will Bolt Pattern on Dutton-Lainson Trailer Coupler # DL13847 Match Fulton Coupler on Boat Trailer

Updated 05/29/2012 | Published 05/25/2012

Question:

Do not like the Fulton coupler Mdl.#22-250 presently on boat trailer which needs replacing due to failure along the highway while towing. Will this Dutton-Lainson #DL13847, match the exsisting mounting holes on my straight tongue 2 1/2 in. channel. Know they, the mounting holes, are both approximately 3 inches apart, but what about depth from the top?

Expert Reply:

Yes, the mounting holes on the Dutton-Lainson Trailer Coupler, part # DL13847, will be in the same location as the mounting holes on the Fulton Trailer Coupler, part # F222500301. As long as the tongue has not been modified the mounting holes are all at the industry standard of 3 inches, center to center, and the distance from the top of the channel to the center of the mounting holes will be the same on all of the bolt-on couplers.
