Question:

Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Right Rear Leg Damaged. Hello. 2019 Keystone Cougar 26RBS Travel Trailer with Lippert GC 3.0 system. Hit a curb with right rear leg and bent bracket and foot pad. Leg still extends properly and motor still works. Actually used for the rest of the summer but want to replace with undamaged leg. Since the motor is still good is there a leg/bracket assembly available that I can move the motor to or do I have to buy the whole thing? This brings up another question. While browsing your site, I noticed the right rear leg has the motor to the left of the strut as you look at it. However, my strut has the motor on the right as you look at it which matches the pictures of the left rear strut on your web site. Second, my foot pad is welded on and does not have the snapper pin. So, Im confused about the left/right thing and also about the welded foot. Ive removed the motor from the strut and it seems it could just be reattached facing the other direction. Thanks for your time with this.

Thanks so much for the photo, it was very helpful. Based on that the correct replacement leg for the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric Leveling System # LC358590 on your Keystone Cougar is actually going to be the Replacement Left Rear Leg # LC305339, which as you can see with the side-by-side photo, is oriented the same as your damaged leg (the entire replacement leg with motor does need to be purcahsed, as there is not a separate leg portion without the motor available).

The Replacement Right Rear Leg # LC344792 has the motor on the opposite side; it is possible your system was simply oriented in this manner when your trailer was being manufactured, but so long as it was working and fit correctly, there's no reason to be concerned about which is titled left or right. You simply want the one that is the replacement for your specific set up, and in your case that's the left leg.

As far as the foot plate being welded on, that is sometimes the case with the OEM systems and the replacement will still work great with your system. The foot pad does come with the Replacement Left Rear Leg # LC305339, but you will need the Replacement 3/8" x 3" Snapper Pin # LC225598 as well to attach the foot pad (why Lippert does not include this with the replacement leg is anyone's guess but it does need to be purchased separately).

Thanks for the response. I also asked if the components to the leg are available with the motor. That does not appear to be the case but I would like you to confirm that non the less.In addition, more pertinent to my problem, it does not appear that it matters what side the leg goes on if it fits. In other words, left on right, right on left, the system still works properly. In your response above you stated, theres no reason to be concerned about which is titled left or right. If that is the case, is there a technical reason that two right legs would not work, one right leg on the right, and one right leg on the left? My guess is there is not as all the programming is in the control panel and the motorized leg doesnt really know what side its on, as long as it fits with no restrictions. As I said above, the motor can be turned around to face the other direction and fits just fine. On my trailer there is nothing impeding the motor no matter what direction it faces.

The Replacement Right Rear Leg # LC344792 can be used on either side without issue as long as the motor location doesn't hinder the fit. The wiring at the controller will dictate the signal going to that motor for proper function. If you just need the motor use # LC343758.
