Can the Yakima Tracks for Roof Racks Be Trimmed Down and Still Have the End Caps Used?

Question:
For a fiberglass topper installation ARE on Nissan Titan 5.5foot bed I have about 48inch max useful lengthwise space. The Yak track 42inch would work great but apparently only comes with plus nuts, meaning I would need to buy a capnut kit. Being cheap, I could get the 60inch length which appears to come with the appropriate cap nuts for $30 less, but I would need to cut the tracks to length. Will the included track end caps still fit if I cut the tracks to length? I already have the correct Landing Pads, towers and bars. Thanks!

Yes. You can cut the Yakima 60" Tracks for Roof Racks # Y01135 down to the size you need them and still use the end caps. You'll need to either cut them down to a size that still leaves the pre-drilled holes close enough to connect the end caps with the screws (as designed) OR you can drill new holes to connect the end caps on your own spacing needs.
I've linked a photo to show you how exactly the end caps will attach to the end of your tracks.
