Question:

looking at the curt hitches for the 2019 Ram 3500 long bed with OEM prep package. I see an A25 and Q25 and they look exactly the same to me. Whats the deal?

The Curt A25 5th wheel trailer hitch part # C16046 and the Curt Q25 5th wheel trailer hitch part # C16049 that fit the 2019 Ram 3500 OEM prep package are essentially the same hitch except for the hitch head specifically the jaw. They both provide the same 24,000 lbs of towing capacity and 14-18 inches of height adjustment however, the A25 is basically an upgraded version of the Q25.

The A25 it's interlocking jaw that results in full contact with the king pin on the fifth wheel trailer. The 360 degree contact will prevent rattling and chucking providing a better, more comfortable ride quality. For that reason the A25 is compatible with the use of a pivoting pin box and the Q25 is not. The Curt Q25 is still a durable and quality hitch with it's 2 piece jaw design but it will not provide the same ride comfort as the A25 option.
