Question:

what is the difference between the curt q25 and the a25 fifth wheel hitch. i have a 2017 ram 3500 with prep tow package. i need max tow ability, and will need to remove the hitch often . which hitch is the best match for my use. thank you and happy new year!

The Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16046 and the Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16049 are both a confirmed fit for your 2017 Ram 3500. The Curt A25 hitch is the newer version of the Curt Q25 hitch which features a stronger head unit made of a more durable material in addition to an easier removal process. The Q25 requires two pins to be pulled in order to remove the head from the legs whereas the A25 only requires one pin to be removed to separate the head from the legs. The legs for both units are the same.

The Curt A25 hitch is about 27 lbs lighter than the Curt Q25 hitch and has a more durable head unit therefore this will be my recommendation for your Ram.
