Question:
Hello, looking at getting a 2019 Ford F-250. Plan on towing a 5th wheel eventually. I see things online and here about the "factory rail or puck kit". What is this? How do I tell if a truck has it? Is it needed or recommended?

The factory rail/prep kit for the 2019 Ford F-250 refers to an integrated puck system in the bed that allows certain 5th wheel hitches or gooseneck balls to mount directly to them, eliminating the need for standard above-bed base rails like what are traditionally used to install a hitch. This allows for a completely clean bed once the hitch itself is removed and less moving parts so I definitely recommend going this route if able.
I have attached an image of a factory puck system on Ford F-250 that you can check out. As you can see, in order to determine if your truck or the one you're looking at has this system all it takes is a quick glance at the inside of the bed.
If you do end up getting a truck with the rail kit I highly recommend the Curt A16 Slider # C16520-16020 if you have the short bed or the Curt A20 Fixed # C16034 if you have the long 8 foot bed. Both options are designed to drop right into those pucks and they features a really nice interlocking 2-jaw system that allows for a smooth ride and a unique 3-point indicator system that lets you quickly see when the hitch is ready to uncouple, couple, or tow.
I have attached a couple short video reviews that you can check out as well.
