I'm looking to mount a 4 bike carrier on my 2019 Mercedes Sprinter 2500. It's got the 170" wheelbase with factory step bumper so didn't know if that affected things. What hitch makes the most sense here?

For your Sprinter 2500, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13358 that will do a great job for your bike carrier and more should you decide to tow later. This hitch model is designed for either the 144" or 170" wheelbase Sprinter vans with the factory step bumper and is a confirmed fit.
I recommend the Kuat NV 2.0 Base 4-Bike Platform Rack # BA22B-BA02B as a solid option to carry your 4 bikes for an outing. The ratcheting hooks and straps mount the bikes by the tire so there is no frame contact. It also allows for carrying fat bikes, has integrated cable locks for security, and it also tilts away from your vehicle to provide access to the rear of your Sprinter.
