Question:

My 2017 Chevy Equinox has the side rails that run along the edge of the roof, but I want to install cross bars. I saw what Yakima and Thule are getting for them, and I was frightened to death! Is there something that would provide the oval shaped bars (I understand they are quieter) and a price that will still allow my family to eat?

Yakima and Thule do make a high quality product, but they do get every penny for it. Another brand name you might not be so familiar with is Inno. They are very well known on the west coast, but not necessarily in the rest of the country. Inno offers high quality roof roof rack components at a lower price than their main competitors.
