Question:
Im looking to put a Curt 2in Class III hitch receiver on my 2019 Kia Sportage LX and Ive run into a couple problems finding the wiring harness for a trailer. I was wondering if this was something I could find and install myself as Ive heard that the newer cars have more electronics involved in the tail lights.

We do have plug and play wiring for a 2019 Kia Sportage LX part # 118698. This Tekonsha 4-pole flat wiring harness fits all models of the 2019 Sportage and easily plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness which is located in the rear cargo area behind the driver's side and passenger's side tail lights.
The black wire does need to be attached to the positive side of the battery to provide power to the modulite converter which protects your vehicle's electrical system. The connections behind the tail lights are not terribly difficult to get to after you remove a piece of trim paneling with a flat head screw driver. It is a pretty simple install that a lot of customers do at home. I have attached an installation video for your reference.
The Curt Trailer hitch that fits the Kia Sportage LX is part # C13281 but it sounds like you may already have the hitch. I have attached an installation video on the hitch as well.
