Updated 07/27/2025 | Published 09/25/2019

Question:

In cab controller signal goes in and out very frequent. 35foot motorhome with jeep tow vehicle. 12V power source for Unit and in cab controller is constant. Have moved controller to different areas of cab, this still does not help with signal issue. The signal is out more than it is in.

We have spoken with Blue Ox about this same issue before and they said that the they haven't had any calls come in yet about the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR having issues with the remote connecting to the main unit but that the original Patriot (part BRK2012) did have a connection issue that was not unheard of. Unfortunately there isn't a signal booster available.

Regardless, the solution would be the same. They said to move it as close to the driver's side window as possible and then you can try raising it higher as well. Sometimes it only takes an inch or so to gain a better signal though so you will want to move it in small increments to determine where the best location for the controller is.

Let me know if that helps or if you need further help.

Yea not sure why they say they haven’t heard of the signal loss. I’ve called a billion times bout signal loss all they say is move it closer to drive window: changed nothing . I still have problems not worth the money stay away from it

@SergioP That's really a bummer. Is your tow vehicle on the longer side or anything that might cause an issue?

@SergioP That really sucks to hear. This not the typical feedback we get with the Patriot but did you end up going with a different system?
