Although the spare tire should be lowered to allow access during the install process, it is replaced right back in the same potion after the install is complete. As you can see in the photo I've provided, the hitch doesn't interfere with the spare tire in the slightest. This will fit your Transit 150 as long as it's not considered a cab/chassis or a cutaway model.
For an easy installation, use a M12 x 1.75 thread tap to cut threads into the sleeves in the frame that receive the mounting bolts. It can be done by hand with a wrench or ratchet, but you have to apply quite a bit of force to get the bolt to cut the threads, it's pretty tricky. An impact wrench isn't recommended, so the thread tap is the best and easiest way to go. To install a 4-pin trailer wiring harness, use part # C56327.
If you need a ballmount with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop, use the # D-4. For a 1-7/8 inch diameter trailer ball, use
# 19260 or # 63845 for a 2 inch ball. For a hitch pin, use part # PC3.
