Question:

I understand the pl9555 comes with replacement handle and the pl9772 does not. From what I see, the pl9772 uses the existing handle. If I install a pl9772 using my existing handle will the handle still work manually? What’s the advantage of the pl9555 if I can use the existing handle?

You are correct, the difference between the two Pop & Lock Power Lock Conversion Kit for Truck Caps and Hard Tonneau Covers kits part # PAL9772 and part # PAL9555 is one comes with a locking handle (PAL9555) and the other allows you to use your existing handle (PAL9772). The advantage of PAL9555 is it comes with the locking handle that can be unlocked manually with the included keys if you want that option. If you use the PAL9772 your existing handle will not be capable of unlocking manually. It will only unlock or lock with the power locks in the vehicle.
