Features to know about

Brighter Light for Work and Safety: 13-Diode LED Bar

When you need reliable light on or around your trailer, this 15-1/4" LED utility bar puts out a clean, bright white beam from its 13 diodes. It’s rated for 9V–16V DC systems, so it works efficiently without draining power. With LEDs rated for up to 100,000 hours, you get consistent brightness without the hassle of replacing bulbs or dealing with fragile filaments.

Built for Wet Conditions: Fully Sealed and Submersible

If your trailer sees rain, spray, or even full submersion, this light is ready for it. The circuit board and housing are sealed together, keeping water out so the diodes stay protected. The waterproof construction prevents moisture from damaging the internals, making it ideal for harsh or wet environments where other lights might fail.

Simple Mounting Anywhere: Surface-Mount Horizontal or Vertical

No need for deep cutouts or complex brackets. This light mounts flat to any surface using standard hardware (not included) and only needs a small hole for the wiring. The 2-wire design—power lead and ground—keeps installation straightforward. You can mount it horizontally or vertically depending on the space and layout you’re working with.

Durable Build That Lasts: Polycarbonate Base and Acrylic Lens

Built to take everyday use, the polycarbonate base and acrylic lens resist impacts and wear. That means it keeps performing even when exposed to vibration or rough conditions. At 15-1/4" long x 1-1/4" tall x 1/2" deep with 13-13/16" between mounting holes, it fits neatly where you need dependable lighting without sticking out or getting in the way.

Just got my new lights installed. Was easy job due to existing wiring. Have not taken out at night yet but expect they will do just fine.

by:

great lights great price, arrived on time, don't have pics but will repost after I get every thing going. I ordered 2 for the trailer, may just need one as bright as they are.
I recommend buying everything for your trailer(s) from etrailer

by:

I like everything I've seen or read about this controller, and it should allow me to pull the trailer I'm building with my pickup and my wife's Subaru without having to rewire my pickup.

I placed an order for some white LED backup light and a light bar for my boat trailer. Everything was in stock and shipped out the next day. I received the order in good shape and saved a ton of money over a local shop for the back up lights, local shop did not have the light bar and would have had to order it taking weeks.

by:

Had installed 2 of these on my flatbed to use as reverse lights. They worked great for 1 month, then had gotten about a 1/4" of condensation inside them. Drilled drain holes in the bottom of each and then after another 3 months, I started loosing LEDs in them. Very dissatisfied. I have sense changed to a different light from another website.

by:

Not waterproof.
Installed two of these
as backup lights on my trailer. First one developed condensation inside the light before the trailer left my yard. It was replaced by etrailer under warranty. Second light also had condensation inside after about a month. I never installed the warranty replacement unit.
These lights might be good for something, but exterior use on a trailer isn't it.

by:

Installed to supplement my Toyota Sienna's inadequate back up lights. Result was amazingly positive.

This light bar is very bright. I just bought two more as spares, in case the lifetime is as short as for many other submersible trailer lights. Even so, it could easily be better. A rubber gasket the length of the bar would give a little relief from jarring on the road that might result in plastic fatigue. Also, on the back the protrusion around the connecting wires is problematic. I would not drill a hole that large in the cross beam on which the pair of lights will be mounted. It should be removed or significant reduced in size (depth and diameter). I compensated for it by using rubber washers on the mounting screws so the ends of the bar would not be bent (causing plastic fatigue and distorting the light.

Well, two of these lights have been on my trailer for a year. Multiple immersions in freshwater. No loss in function. Im quite happy with them.

The light is a great asset to my boat trailer. The light really illuminates the boat ramp and my driveway when backing up. I added a 2nd fixture to the passenger side of the trailer a bit later. I wish the fixture had listed its lumen output. Also, it would be nice to see a video of the fixture outside versus on a bench so we can see how it illuminates at night. Otherwise, I like the light and the quality is good after many submersions at the ramp.

Thank you for your review. Since this is an exterior light it has not been tested for lumen output, but based on similar items it is probably 350 lumens.

Still going strong. No yellowing of the light. Glad I bought it.

  • Comparing the Hot-Line LED Trailer Backup Light and GloLight LED Combination Trailer Tail Light
In regards to light output, the Hot-Line LED Trailer Backup Light part # 328-003-6017W will physically put out more light than the reverse light portion of the GloLight LED Combination Trailer Tail Light part # STL161RLB as it has twice as many diodes (12 vs 6). In order to run the reverse light circuit you can use part # 16-1-1 (per foot).

  • Recommended Wire Gauge For A 5-Way Wire Harness Ground Wire
Hey Jeffrey, The minimum wire gauge for a 5-way wire harness ground would be 16AWG so you'd be good using 14AWG. As for the chains, we'll need to know the GVWR of your trailer to ensure we're picking out the correct capacity to handle the weight of the trailer in the event of a breakaway.

  • Can Optronics Thinline LED Utility Light # UCL59CB Be Used as Backup Light on Trailer
I do have a really similar option that will work great, however the Optronics Thinline LED Utility Light # UCL59CB that you referenced can't be used as a backup light on your trailer. This is simply because the light doesn't meet DOT standards, which takes things like brightness into account (it can be TOO bright) for this type of application. I instead recommend the Command Hot-Line LED Trailer Backup Light # 328-003-6017W, which features the same light bar design as the model you were...

  • Trailer Reverse Lights That Do Not Require A Hole For Recessed Mounting
For white led backup lights with a bracket, you can use the Trailer Light Mounting Bracket # BK70BB with a PVC Grommet # a70gb and the 6-1/2" backup light of your choosing. I recommend the Light Guide LED Truck/Trailer Light # BUL602CRB. These lights both act as a backup light as well as a provide an additional tail light to ensure that the you are clearly seen. You will need a 3-Wire Pigtail # A45PB to connect the light to the wiring on your trailer. We also have either the Hot-Line...

  • Which Pin On a 2018 Ford F-150 Trailer Connector Is For Reverse Lights
Yes, the center pin for the 7-way trailer connector on your 2018 Ford F-150 is for the reverse light circuit. If the vehicle is placed into reverse then the pin will become active and send power to the trailer. I have attached a selection of our backup lights for you below. I recommend the Hot-Line LED Trailer Backup Light Bar part # 328-003-6017W because its's easy to install and has LED bulbs. In order to run the power wire from this light to the trailer connector you can use part # DW07550-1.

  • Changing Trailer 4-Way Wiring to 7-Way Wiring for Extra Function and Compatible Connector to Truck
To switch your boat trailer from a 4-way to a 7-way connector, I recommend using the 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector, 6' Long # H20044 along with heat shrink butt connectors # DW05744-5. You will ground the white wire to your trailer frame using # 44-5310A and then connect the running lights, right turn/stop, left turn/stop, and reverse light. To the reverse light (yellow wire on # H20044) you will connect # 16-1-1 wire sold by the foot to lead to your trailer reverse lights that...
