Question:

Your email indicated the 2000 chevy K2500 does not have the listed plug in the relay box, Apparently the C/K series is not the same as a Silverado! Are there instructions for the C/K series as to which wires to splice into?

The 2000 Chevy C/K Series does not have a plug in the relay box or under the dash to plug a brake controller adapter into. To wire in a brake controller like part # 90195 it would be a hardwired application. To accomplish wiring in the brake controller, you will need a 4-Way to 7-way kit part # ETBC7. Some of the C/K series trucks have OEM wiring extended to the back of the truck already but not all trucks are equipped with the partial wiring. To find the partial wiring (if you have it) lower and remove the spare tire. There should be a bundle of wires that include an orange and blue wire in the frame rail.

Those are the wires you will splice the 7-way into. The blue wire should be for the brake output and orange should be the power supply. You will also need a 4-way connector. If you do not already have a 4-way connector I recommend part # 118315. The 4-way connector will plug into the adapter from the 7-way. I have attached an installation video that shows how to install a brake controller with the partial wiring on your truck that I strongly recommend taking a look at.

If you do not have the partial wiring, then you would need to extend the wires from the 7-way plug with the ETBC7 duplex wire to the cab of the truck to install the brake controller. The brake controller will need to be connected the vehicle's battery via circuit breakers. The video on the 1994 C/K Series that I have added shows an installation on a truck without the partial wiring. You will need the 4-way connector with this install.
