I have a 2000 Chevy K2500, Im installing a trailer brake controller, everything else is ready, but the connection to the cold side of the brake switch, is there an easier access to the brake switch wires, and any idea what colors Im looking for?

You should be looking for a white wire for the cold side of the brake switch on your 2000 Chevrolet K2500. I have linked a installation video below of a Tekonsha PowerTrac Electronic Brake Controller # 39523 being installed on a similar 2000 Chevrolet pickup. The technician does mention that at times he has found the correct wire to be yellow, so you will want to test it with a Test Light # PTW2993 to ensure that you have the correct wire.
