Is it Normal for Pintle Hook Towing Setup to Make Noise When Starting/Stopping
Question:
I was wondering is my ring to large for my pintle hitch. I bought the BW tow pintle set up with the 2 5/8 ball and have a 3 inch ring. seems to have a lot of banging when stop and go. Do I have the wrong set up ? Im towing my skid steer weighs in around 10,000 lbs

The standard size for Lunette rings is 3 inch like what you have. While I am not totally certain what hook you have it's likely you did buy the correct size. Due to the looser connections of Pintle/Lunette setups some noise is to be expected. Especially if the hook is the style with a hitch ball too as the hook doesn't end up as smooth.
The quietest setups are ones like the part # C48231 which have a smoother hook.
