Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Curt bolt on pintle hook. Has a 60,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this pintle hook will let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. It provides this attachment point for your lunette ring coupler, and it is designed to fit lunette ring couplers that have an insight hole diameter of two and a half inches or three inches.
And basically what you would do is to hook it up. Just remove this safety pin, and then you'll have your handle right here that you can pull up on. And when you pull up on it, it'll release it and you can open up the hook. And then just like that, it's open. Your lunette ring, which will be on your trailer, you just dropped the lunette ring over the hook like that.
And then all you have to do is just push down and that'll lock it into place. And then for safety, you take this tethered pin, slide it through the hole all the way, and then clip that and that will keep it from opening. Now, this is a nice, strong, forged steel construction. You can see has a nice rust resistant high gloss powder coat finish. The safety pin we mentioned is tethered, and it is included to keep that pintle hook locked over the lunette ring. Now, this is a bolt on installation. It bolts to a pintle hook mounting plate with the included hardware.
Now that pintle hook mounting plate is not included. We do sell that separately on our website. The mounting hardware that is included includes four, five eighths inch diameter bolts, washers, and the nuts are all included for installation. A few specs again on this. The gross towing weight capacity is 60,000 pounds.
Tongue weight capacity is 12,000 pounds.Last thing I want to do is give you some mounting hole dimensions right here on the back. We'll measure center to center. So if we go horizontal, your mounting holes, center to center, is right at three and three eighths inches. And if we go vertical, center to center, it's right at one and three quarter inches. But again, just to demonstrate how to open up, we'll remove the tethered pin, just like that, pull up on that handle. And when you pull up on it or release it. Drop your lunette ring right over the hook there, and then just push that down. It will keep it into place and for extra security, just slide that on and flip it. But that should do it for the review on this Curt bolt on pintle hook with the 60,000 pound gross towing weight capacity.

Tow up to 60,000 lbs with this solid, forged steel pintle hook. It bolts onto a pintle mounting plate (sold separately) with the included hardware. Durable, black powder coat resists rust.As described, but no information on the hole diameter on the website, so the Curt pintle mounting bolts don't fit without drilling.
Perfect for my setup.
The service and product was just what one would expect from a great company
Well made for sure. Only complaint is that when shipping heavy steel parts please package the hardware better. I had to chase the threads on 1 of the bolts as they were slightly deformed from being mashed by the hitch.
This is a manufacturer thing not an etrailer problem. The box was sealed when it arrived.
etrailer's packaging was excellent.
Great item fast shipping
I ordered next day and part was at my shop early so I could get customer up and running. Quality part with hardware and torque specs.
GOOD QUALITY PRODUCT HAVE BEEN USING A COUPLE OF YEAR
Great company fastest shipping i found.
Very heavy duty, the bolts that come with this were larger than the holes in the recommended rise/drop mount. No big deal for me as I have the tools and bits to enlarge the holes but for someone who doesnt, they would have to take it somewhere to be done.
Project included cutting/drilling and welding 1" thick plate on rear of 16 yard dump truck. Truck is used to pull 550B dozier and backhoe.
GREAT PRODUCT
Thanks
As always, quality & great service
